Qualitative Interviews

Hello,

I need opinion regarding a situation whereby my informant interrupt the interview due to his personal engagement an asked for the rest of information through email.Will this email communicaion be the part of  our interview or will be treated as the continuation of the interview or not?Kindly suggest some readings.
