Dear All:
I'm using the qualitative method. To interpet my interviews, I am trying to use the XSight softawer, but I feel lost as I don't master it. Can anyone help me do that?

Hi Nadia,

You might be able to find something on this or on one of the links on this page:

Try QDA Miner Lite, it's a free qualitative software and easy to use: http://provalisresearch.com/products/qualitative-data-analysis-soft...

I am planning on using NVIVO, but my data collection will not start for another month, have you looked at this package/ I had a two day training session on it, and QSR, the manufacturers, offer free on-line webinars to help you.  I have also been recommended to look at QDA, but I do not have institutional support for it, and am worried if I have a problem, that no one would be able to help me, and we have NVIVO expertise on campus.

You can also take a look at Dedoose - it was actually designed to be easier to use. There is a 30 free day trial you can sign up for here: https://app.dedoose.com/LearnMore/SignUp.aspx#SignUpForm. After the first 30 days the cost is $12 per month and they only charge you for the months that you actually log in.

As with any software, you should always do your research to find the tool that will be best for you. I would jump onto as many demos of the possible software packages as possible until you find the best one. Here is the link to sign up for a free demo with Dedoose: http://blog.dedoose.com/2013/08/free-dedoose-demos/

Good luck with the search!
