I suspect it is as simple as it looks - a scan of a period of history - a "looking back". One of the issues among feminist practitioners is the continuous process by which we lose our history, so an attention to retrospectives would address that iss…

I'd be interested to see this too. Specifically how a "lit review" (which isn't really a specific term anyway) differs from a "retrospective"

retrospectives (?)

We recently had the editor of Signs, Mary Hawkesworth, speak at my institution about publishing in feminists publications. She spoke specifically about doing retrospectives - which she briefly described as similar to a historical lit review of significant work on a particular topic. Of course, i know 'lit review', but i am unfamiliar with the term retrospective. Can anyone offer some insight concerning the nature and format of such a document and perhaps a couple of examples.
thanks in advance!
