Hi Paul,
Have you visited Social Science Space yet? It has a whole thread dedicated to the question of impact. http://www.socialsciencespace.com/category/impact/
The Academy of Social Sciences has also just announced the launch of the Campaign for Social Science (CfSS). The CfSS will generate evidence on a cross-disciplinary basis, and from within and without academia, to support the continuity of social science research in the UK and then use that evidence for advocacy and lobbying purposes. A series of regional roadshows will take place over the year. IThe question of impact will be at the forefront of all of these roadshows. http://www.youtube.com/user/CfSocialScience.
I hope this is helpful!
Best,
Katie
In answer to your questions ...
1. The resources on the site are exceptional and much appreciated. Your leadership and commitment are exemplary.
2. As with many communities and networks, establishing a rhythm and steady flow of interaction are challenging. One possible way of stimulating greater interaction would be to ask the group to identify common KT+ challenges (or a challenge currently faced by a member) and then engage the group in discussing potential solutions (with supporting theory and practices).
Thanks for the warm welcome and brief introduction to group. I look forward to stimulating and productive interactions with you and other group members.
Appreciatively,
Peter
