For August 2020 we will focus on Teaching and Learning Research. We will explore classroom instruction in research methods, as well as research foundations and experiences in other curricular courses. Find the unfolding series of original posts, interviews, and resources through this link.
Do you teach qualitative methods, or supervise researchers who are designing qualitative studies? Does your institution subscribe to SAGE Research Methods? (If you don’t have access, then explore SRM with a free trial.) SRM is a research library, with e-books, case studies, videos, and tools like a research project planner and the ability to use social bookmarking and curate Reading Lists.
The SRM Faculty Resources page includes new additions that might be useful, especially if you are shifting your courses online. These instructional guides and assignment ideas can help you connect researchers and students to relevant digital materials.
I created this new lesson plan as an introduction to major qualitative methodologies. It includes links to SRM books, articles, cases, and videos learners can view, read, and download. I’ve also suggested some discussion and assignment ideas. Please use the comment area to make suggestions for other lesson plan topics, and let us know how you might use these kinds of materials.
