The blog posts include “The Computation/Context Trade-Off?” by Laura K. Nelson, assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Northeastern University, and “Learning data science from a sociological background” by Maria Holcekova, a PhD student in sociological research. The speaker was Pablo Barberá, assistant professor of computational social science at the London School of Economics. The SAGE Ocean Speaker Series launched earlier this year to explore the intersection of social science, big data and technology.
