Big Data and Social Research Roundup No. 19

Categories: Big Data, SAGE Posts

In this month’s big data newsletter, we open with a recounting of SAGE Publishing having co-hosted the first ever Social Science Foo Camp. The camp — ‘Foo’ stands for ‘Friends of O’Reilly,’ which with Facebook was also a host — is the first in a series of events that SAGE will be running as part of its new SAGE Ocean initiative.

SAGE Ocean’s mission is to support social science by equipping social scientists with the skills, tools and resources needed to work with big data and new technology. Our events will engage social scientists in the big data discussion and provide opportunities for researchers across disciplines to meet and form new collaborations.
