In this fifth edition of our monthly big data and social research newsletter, we highlight a speech Beth Noveck — director of The Governance Lab at NYU and director the White House Open Government Initiative from 2009 to 2011– discussing the “technologies of expertise” as part of the fourth annual SAGE/Campaign for Social Science lecture. The talk was particularly timely, and influential, given the devalued role for ‘experts’ in much recent political rhetoric.
