    Hello all,

I am a doctoral student at the beginning of the research phase, following a mixed methods approach. In order to record the interviews for further transcription and analysis, I recently bought a recorder.

The recorder saves audio files either as *.wav or *.mp3. Which format suits better for recoding an interview? As far as I know, mp3 is compressed, consuming less memory capacity, but at the same time it has a lower quality. Do you have any hints? Is an mp3-file sufficient in terms of quality for a research interview?

    Regards,

    Konrad
