What do the lies we tell say about the self?

    • Have you ever told a lie that has significantly affected how you feel about your self?
    • Have you ever told a lie that has significantly affected your relationships with other people?
    • Do you feel like you are living a lie?

I am currently searching for participants to take part in my research on the relationships between the lies that we tell and identity work. Through narrative analysis, my principle aim is to explore how individuals use lying behaviour to mediate their social worlds and relationships.

Participants will be required to take part in an in-depth interview with the researcher which will last about an hour. This involves being interviewed at length about a lie that has significantly affected how you feel about yourself and/or your relationships with other people. Any information you provide will be treated with respect and sensitivity. All identifying details will be changed and confidentiality ensured.
