    Hi, Does anyone know of any work which reviews the use of cognitive maps/ cognitive mapping in qualitative analysis? Id be grateful for any pointers. many thanks. Colin

    Have you seen our chapter in the book Management Research by Mark Easterby-Smith, Richard Thorpe and me (Paul Jackson)? We present an example of cognitive mapping.

    Richard Thorpe is the qual person who wrote this section of the book, and I tease him that this is actually a quant method smuggled in. Of course, it is both. I have used cognitive mapping in both a quant and a qual way in previous work with great success.

    You might look out for Anne Huff who has looked at how managers strategise, and also Devi Jankowicz who is an expert on repertory grids.
