can anyone help explain to me or sent me documents that are explicit on the following concepts on ethnomethodology; indexicality or contextuality and reflexivity? I am using this concepts to give meaning to my data on the socio-cultural perception on illness and death resulting from road accidents.
indexicality as used in ethnomethodolgy refer to the contextual nature of behaviour or talk. talks is indexical in the sense that it has no meaning with out a context or can take on various meaning depending pon the context. reflectivity and indexicality aare properties of behavoir , settings and talk which make the ongoing construction of social reality necessary Both of these properties question the objectivity of accounts, descriptions, explanations, etc
