    Good afternoon, everybody!
My PhD reserch is intended to be based on open elite interviews. I have certain ideas about structure, design and questions but could any one suggest literature for inspiration and further thought. The book of L.Dexter (1970) springs to mind but have you personally found useful.
    All the best,
    Alex

    Alexander,
I think the Harriet Zuckerman’s article “Interviewing an ultra-elite” (http://www.seniorsequence.net/images/uploads/2008/01/zuckerman-interviwing-ultra-elite.pdf) can help you. It is part of a major research published in his book “Scientific Elite” (1995, Transaction Publishers).

    Alexander,
another book you should consider is “The Focused Interview” by Robert K. Merton. It is a unique and incredible book. The work of Harriet Zuckerman published in “Scientific Elite” is based in the seminal work of Robert K. Merton published in “The Focused Interview”.
