You may want to have a look at the EVENTS page on Methodspace for the Talking Health Matters (Personal Stories in Professional Practice) workshop and conference, organised on the 16th and 17th of June at Northumbria University. The spearkers’ list includes: Prof Arthur W. Frank, Dr. Maggie O’Neill, Dr. Ann McNulty.

Researching cultural work and creative biographies:
This half-day workshop will begin with presentations from three researchers
who make different use of biographical materials: Linda Sandino (Camberwell
College of Arts/ V&A), Maria Tamboukou (UEL) and Stephanie Taylor (Open
University). They will describe their empirical work in this broad area,
focussing on the data collection and analytic approach, the premises and
broad purpose of the research and empirical issues which it raises.

Title: ‘The poetic re-representation of life stories’
Jane Speedy will discuss the work of the Centre for Narrative and
Transformative Learning and using poetry to capture research participants’
personal narratives in therapeutic contexts.The Centre for Life History and Life Writing Research was launched in June
1999. It offers a regular lunchtime seminar series which began years ago as
