Does anyone know if there are any studies comparing constructivist grounded theory (Charmaz) with Postmodernist (Clarke and Situational Analysis)? The majority of the studies show how the methodological spiral has evolved from objectivist to constructivist, but not a comparison between constructivist and postmodernist .
Has anyone else thought about this, or could shed some light on this?
I am conducting my research using Charmaz, but I have recently been challenged as to why I am not using Clarke’s situational analysis. My beliefs are interpretivist, and I believe that using a constructivist approach is the correct one, however I can see the use of Clarke’s mapping analysis as providing more tools for analysis, but am I then going into postmodernist territory?
Thanks
