You all might be interested in an analytics competition we are organizing. It is called Hearst Challenge, http://www.hearstchallenge.com. It is sponsored by Hearst Magazines, DMA and Wharton. The problem statement requires participants to use quantitative methods to predict open and click through events email marketing campaigns. The winner gets $25k and the there is a separate category for the most innovative approach, to be judged by the Wharton Faculty. A finalists are invited to present their work at the DMA conference in Boston.
I think the members of this community will find this very interestign as this call for a direct applicagtion of their knowledge.
