Dear all,
While implementing International Social Survey Program (ISSP) in my country, Lithuania, we found some points worth an academic discussion.(research funded by the grant from Research Council of Lithuanian)
Is it / How can it be possible to use same questions in culturally diverse countries?
E.g. we found that one of the questions from Health module, implemented in 2011, was “Thinking about your health insurance coverage would you say you are… very well covered/ well covered / etc.”. The thing is that in Lithuania everybody has a state guaranteed health insurance which is pretty much the same for all and not much discussed. Respondents did not understand what this question is about.
Do you have similar experiences?
