We seek to appoint a three year, full time senior research fellow for CHARM, a new ESPRC funded project investigating the use of descriptive social norms and conceptions of ‘normal’ practices, in the context of sustainability. The post is part of a major project that includes seven people and three universities. In collaboration with the principal investigator, the post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the project and will conduct the majority of the qualitative fieldwork and analysis, undertaking extensive sociological research to explore the ordinary, invisible practices that relate to energy consumption, an active lifestyle and a more sustainable way of life.
Applications are invited from active researchers with a PhD in sociology, anthropology or social psychology, substantial post-doc experience, and a proven research and publication record. The research is primarily sociological, but is interdisciplinary, drawing on research in sociology, social psychology, behavioural economics and social marketing.
