    Hello,

Does anyone know what the recommendations are for an N for a narrative study, and the reference source for this info?

    Thanks,

    Yoly

Yes. The N required for a convincing claim would be the same as for any method of data collection. Depends largely on the number of ‘cells’ comparisons. If you just want to describe something then 100 or 100s of cases. If you want to compare two or more somethings then 00 or 100s of cases per group/arm.

    Hi Stephen,

Thank you for your feedback. I am working with a student conducting a narrative study, the issue of an N came up. As I am not familiar with the narrative methodology I thought I would ask.

    Gracias again.

    Hi Yoly
