Question of Indexes and scales composite measure

Hi!

  Here is a question that I always confuse about :

As I knew that there are four types of scales; they are nominal, ordinal, interval and ratio, right? and scales take account of the differing intensities of indicators, so my question is whether nominal scale is included in scales  composite measure  or the nominal scale is included in indexes composite measure , because nominal scale doesn’t measure any intensities of indicators; the question that nominal scale uses is always yes or no question, like :

for example:

1.do you have a car? ;

2 which brand of car you like the most on below:

1. BMW

2. Ford

3. Toyota

 

Please help me to solve this question 🙂
