> The Thomas Coram Research Unit, Institute of Education, is looking
> for a 0.5 fte Grade 6 Research Officer to work on an innovative
> mixed methods research project, Food Practices and Employed Families
> with Younger Children. The study is funded by the ESRC and the Food
> Standards Agency and will be led by Professor Julia Brannen, Ann
> Mooney and Dr Rebecca O’Connell. You will work with children and
> families to generate data via a variety of predominantly qualitative
> research methods and assist with data analysis and the writing of
> reports and other materials.
> You will need a good first degree or equivalent qualification in
> sociology, anthropology, nutrition or related discipline and
> relevant research experience, possibly gained as part of a degree
> course. The ability to work flexibly, creatively, and sensitively
> with children from a wide age range and with families from diverse
> backgrounds is essential. Experience of employing a range of
> qualitative research methods and using qualitative data analysis
> software packages is desirable, although training will be provided
> where necessary.
> The post will involve travel across England and some overnight
> stays. Access to a car is desirable.
