I wonder if anyone has any experience of the impact of making public relatively early reports of a longer study.

Currently, I have conducted a mapping exercise which shows that power in most of the major organisations within a neighbourhood seems to lie in the hands of a few elected politicians.

My concern is, if I make this public at an early stage of the overall study, will it alert politicians to the study, change their behaviour (for a short while anyway) or in someway or another attempt to make it difficult for me to continue the study.

Does anyone know if any one has written about this dilemma/topic? I feel I need to read more about the pros and cons of early publishing of such reports.

    Many thanks.
