I am planning a research project for a dissertation, and I am planning to take a qualitative approach. It is not a huge project (10K words) so I’m not expected to undertake tonnes of interviews, but the main issue I’m having at this early stage is whether my thoughts on methods go with my question.
I basically would like to ask whether certain school practices are in line with the principle of the best interests of the child. I was thinking of interviewing teachers/other education professionals to ask their views and perspectives on whether, in their experience, these educational practices threaten or uphold children’s best interests. So I was thinking of between 10-20 interviews with a range of professionals.
I wonder, from anyone more experienced with doing this sort of research, does it sound like my approach could answer my question?
