We are planning on inviting people from around the globe to participate in discussions about criminal justice concerns with our students and faculty.  I wonder about the ethical considerations for this…is everyone in every country protected so to speak or would we put some individuals or even groups at risk or retaliation by their government?  We cannot guarantee confidentiality or anonymity.

Is it ethical to learn about problems without the means to help address or alleviate such?

How to go about finding participants – what would be the most ethical manner in which to proceed?
