If so, would you be so kind to share your experiences? Thanks Diane 22nd September 2011 at 11:40 am #3211 Katie MetzlerParticipant I just came back from the International Visual Methods conference at the OU. http://www.visualmethods.org/full-programme.php Very inspiring!! And lots of people there doing ethnography with photos who you could connect with. You should check out Carey Jewitt’s books, Sarah Pink’s Doing Visual Ethnography http://www.uk.sagepub.com/books/Book229354?siteId=sage-uk&prodTypes=any&q=pink&fs=1 and also take a look at the new Handbook of Visual Methods edited by Margolis and Pauwels. http://www.uk.sagepub.com/books/Book233039?siteId=sage-uk&prodTypes=any&q=margolis&fs=1 Your library might have it! And for methodologies for analysing visual materials, you should look at Gillian Rose’s new edition The opening plenary of the conference was from Kat Cizek on using participatory photo and video methods. Check out some of her projects on this website, they are amazing! http://filmmakerinresidence.nfb.ca/. Good luck with your research! 22nd September 2011 at 11:51 am #3210 Diane PhillipsParticipant Thanks Katie, I’ll review the sites!! I appreciate your speedy response!!!
