    Hi Katharina,

There is a short introduction (pp. 738–744) in
    Crawley, M. J. (2007). T R book. Chichester: Wiley.
on cluster analysis (covering partitioning, taxonomic use of kmeans, and hierarchical cluster analysis).

Furthermore, I found some lines (pp. 458–462) in
    Adler, J. (2009). R in a nutshell: A desktop quick reference. Sebastopol, CA: O’Reilly.
where the package cluster is described.

An introduction in German (pp. 417–447, topics are hierarchische Clusterverfahren, Clustern von Variablen, Centroid-Cluster, and Fuzzy-Cluster and there are also some exercises) can be found here:
Hatzinger, R., Hornik, K., Nagel, H. (2011). R: Einführung durch angewandte Statistik. München: Pearson.

There is also a chapter (pp. 215–252) in
Hellbrück, R. (2011). Angewandte Statistik mit R: Eine Einführung für Ökonomen uns Sozialwissenschaftler (2nd ed.). Wiesbaden: Gabler.

    Hope that helps!

    hi frederik

thanks for your reply. i am aware of the paragraphs in adler (2009) but will check out crawley. it’s an english course, so german literature does not help, but thanks anyway!

    best, katharina
