Regulating the Political Science Profession Debate
The Final Reports on the discussions about the implementation of DA-RT (Data Access and Research Transparency) principles are in at the QTD website.
Among other things, the data management principles in DA-RT could require disclosure of confidential sources, or burden their use, and would also impose notions of quantitative scientific methodology that would seem to reduce the professionalism of political scientists who practice Interpretivist methods; thereby burdening publication in higher ranking journals, and discouraging interest in grad students.
